For Pamela Lamppa, to cheer her up

Pamela has recently had a painful knee surgery, and is having some issues with recovering from that. I would like to see some poems to cheer her up. Humor strongly appreciated, but anything will work as long as it's not negative.

You can check out Pamela's page here:

http://allpoetry.com/Pamela%20A%20Lamppa

Any form, style, etc., although rhyme is likely to be favored. Grammar, punctuation and spelling should be accurate, although I won't be as much of a stickler with that as I usually am. The important thing will be if the poems are suitable for the contest.

Good luck with it.

Contest is Over

  • Contest was judged on September 11
  • Rewards: Gold: 400, Silver: 100, Bronze: 50, Honorable mention: 3 people
  • Final notes:
Hopefully, Pamela enjoyed the poems, which, after all, was the point of the contest. I didn't judge this based on the "best" poem (in my opinion), but only on how well I felt it adhered to the point of the contest. If you didn't place here, there's always another opportunity coming up down the line.

    Thanks to all who entered.

Yes! Yes! I'll go consult with my muse and see what I can do. It may have to be a pre-write.

    Thanks for doing this.

  • Yes indeed!

That's a nice idea. I know how discouraging surgery can be.

Thank you for hosting a great contest, Jim. Congrats to all who entered for such a worthy cause. I'm sure Pamela was in stitches...from intense laughter. I do hope she's well on the mend. Be well, Poets and Scribes.

Pamela is one of my favorite people, and I was pleased to write a little ditty in her honor. Thank you for the honor of a gold trophy and congratulations to the other winners. Peace, Liz

      Normally ...

I don't really care for limericks, and this is undoubtedly the first time I've ever given a trophy to one (other than once when I had a contest for limericks only). However, I judged this on how well I felt the poems related to the prompt. Since I judge blind, I had no idea who the winners would be. Congratulations on your trophy.

Normally I don't write them either. I was trying to think of something that would amuse Pam since it was not my usual mode of writing. I wanted to make it personal and not submit a pre-write. I honestly did not expect to receive a trophy. I just wanted to lend my support.
