Hello! Welcome to a new multiround contest hosted by Matt (divebar) and I.
Unlike traditional multiround contests, there will not be eliminations. Instead, you are allowed to compete in each round up to the finale. The winner of the entire series will be decided by cumulative point total of every round's score.
The main point of Introspection is to explore yourself a little more. Each week's prompt will be geared toward self-reflection on your part and a careful consideration of your own emotions and values. I hope that by looking internally you can find a greater sense of fulfillment in writing.
The other main goal is to encourage beautiful, publishable poetry, that doesn't have to be shaped around overspecific prompts or limitations.
Here is a list of all the requirements/information you will want to know:
CONTEST PROGRESSION
1. No eliminations, but you may drop out at any point
2. Each round is judged separately and awarded trophies
3. You are NOT required to participate in every round- however, not entering will most likely damage your chances at winning, since each round is worth 100 points
4. There are currently 7 rounds scheduled, but this may be adjusted depending on interest
5. Each round will most likely take about a week
WHAT IS EXPECTED FOR THE FUTURE ROUNDS
1. You may submit poetry of any form or type- free verse, rhyme, form, prose. However, rhyme is more likely to be lose points in execution, so be forewarned.
2. The rubric is very basic:
40- content/creativity
40- execution/form
20- cohesion/balance
3. Your writing should demonstrate introspection and insight
4. Fictional pieces are acceptable if you cannot connect to the prompt personally
WHAT IS EXPECTED FOR THE AUDITION
1. Enter a pre-write or fresh write that demonstrates your abilities
2. Don't enter a piece that is entered in a bunch of contests at the same time
3. Poetry centered on introspection is encouraged
4. Emo is heavily discouraged
5. For poetry: 10-50 lines, for prose: 1-5 paragraphs, really, we don't want to read your life's autobiography.
Judging for this round may be based on the rubric, or it may be a simple yes/no from each judge. We will see.

Contest is Over
- Contest was judged on August 25
- Rewards: Gold: 400, Silver: 200, Bronze: 100, Honorable mention: 2 people
- Final notes: Thank you all for entering! Those who have made it through the audition are on the finalist list. After the 5 trophy winners, the entries are NOT in a particular order. Those who did not make it, thank you for trying out.
I would recommend reading the trophy winners. There were a lot of fantastic entries and it was difficult to decide who should win. The five selected have strength in content and style, and are very true to their own voice.
Introspection Round 1 should be posted shortly. I will send the link to all participating. Thanks again!

lol. maybe just a little bit. but more contests in general. you'll see how simple the prompts are
-
ahah, i actually thought of X when i read that! ahah
-
-
haha yeah. contestants can be confusing. i'd get complaints that the challenges weren't challenging enough. And then there were others that are like "might as well put me in a straight-jacket!"

-
this may be a way to get me writing again. it sounds good.

and how many poets are you accepting?
peace to all ~flight -
-
not sure yet, it depends on how many people enter. i don't think we'll have a set number- everyone who deserves to get through will

Consider it done my lovely!

Urgh, I don't know. I'll submit a prewrite, but since I started my job, I've had absolutely no time/inspiration to write anything.
So I'll enter something and we'll see
Thank you for the invite Cassidy. -
