Yep, it's true.
Josh is starting a letter contest.
I've told myself again and again, how much I refused to start one, but I'm jealous of everyone else's turn out. So, here's how it's gonna work.
Write me a letter. If you know me, this should be easy.
If you don't know me, go to my page. It says alot about me on their.
http://allpoetry.com/Cyanide%20Dreams
or read this:
http://allpoetry.com/poem/5406943
or, just write to me. About yourself.
Here's the thing.
I'm gonna make this a bit trickier.
It must be in prose form, after all, it is a letter.
If you're writing about yourself, you may not use the words "I", "me", "myself" or any other of those things. (that I want to call a posessive noun but I don't think that right.)
If you're writing to me, you can't use the words "you" or "yourself".
You may make fun of me, but make it tasteful, not mean. After all, I love laughing at myself too.
Start it with "Dear Joshua" or "Dear, Cyanide" if you have a nickname for me, or already know me, or just want to. Give it a wacky nickname like "Dear, poopie-head" or something. I don't care if you end it with a "love so and so" or "sincerly so and so" just be sure to end it like a letter.
The gold winner will get a letter written in return to them.
Rules:
You may reserve, but for the love of all that is sacred, come back.
Prose only.
Imagery, metaphor, and other poetic devices are a must
Nothing under 10 lines, nothing over 100 lines.
No bashing.
It'd be nice if you commented on someone else's letter, but you don't have to.
If you use any type of picture, be sure to credit!
Make it sincere, funny, whatever, just make me love it.
Brownie Points if you can make me realise something about myself that I haven't thought about or something I haven't realised yet.
Now, write me something beautiful.
Josh
Contest is Over
- Contest was judged on November 23
- Rewards: Gold: 555, Silver: 250, Bronze: 160, Honorable mention: 5 people
- Final notes: Wow, this was really hard to judge. My boyfriend had to help me pick the gold, silver, and bronze, I just couldn't decide. You all did a splendid job and I thank you for writing to me. Giving me an uplifting feeling and just giving me long life advice even if you didn't know you were. Thanks and keep on writing. To the gold, silver, and bronze, I will each write you a letter in return, you may give me restrictions like I did you if you would like. Just message me. I don't know how soon I will get them up but I will send you a link as soon as I do. Again, thanks and good luck in your future contests.
Josh

Dearest Josh,
In a very heartfelt attempt to alleviate feelings of not being accepted or able to be the self inside the body, I find myself driven to write this letter.by ShaShay 10 lines, 5 comments, on Oct 3 9:25 AM. In Contest, Life, Love, Society, Thoughts

Decided to stop by today just to say hello. Reading the personal page of a special writer is always so interesting. One can learn so much by the words and background each person uses.

I've kept this contest in mind for awhile, but it's so hard not to write about myself using 'I'.
I might write about me in third person; would that work? -
-
Yes you can
-
-
I love you for doing this contest.
It got my muse on the thinking train for a couple of days.
And now it's back to crap.
