i am getting sick and tired of the word "sensual" being misused.
sensual. using the senses.
common use of sensual. borderline erotic.
i want the proper version of sensual. give me an experience that will make me taste, touch, see, hear, smell, feel (emotion), and feel (psychic).
ie. give me proper use of sensual, not the common use. i do not want to hear about your sex life.
there is a twist.
i have a list of prompts. the number will be likely to go up. so i want the proper kind of sensual, based around a prompt.
you have a choice of giving me a letter, a number, or both. letter prompts will be different from numbered prompts. it might be a picture i've found from raiding google. it might be a song. it might be a quote. it doesn't matter. and no, i will not be telling you what it is until you've asked for the prompt.
rules and other important stuff.
1. sensual. not erotica. i do not give a damn about your sex life. keep it in the bedroom/kitchen/car/cinema.
2. i will re-read when judging, please edit.
3. favorites wanting to enter will be given a challenge, not prompt; if you would prefer a challenge, please tell me, it can be arranged.
4. no rhyme. none. no meter. i don't care what you say. rhyme + meter = sad shadow. freeverse + dirty pretty = very happy shadow.
5. leave the shift key alone. stop hurting it. it didn't do anything to you. leave it alone.
6. comment below for a prompt/challenge, do not enter a new poem until you have the prompt. prompt will most likely be in a message, not a reply.
7. if you see a comment with the one you wanted, tough luck, it is taken. if i haven't changed it below, so that the person's name follows, it is mostly likely because i haven't had a chance to do it.
8ish. i am looking for judges to assist. i may turn it into a rounds contest. i don't know yet.
9. i'm an adult, do not treat me as a child. use language (english please) that will not make me think you are 3yrs old. ie, no text, leet, or terrible grammar.
10. i want number/letter/challenge and the prompt in the notes please, along with your screen name with * between each letter.
11. i will probably be adding more numbers, but since there are no more letters in the alphabet, the alphabet will remain 26 letters long.
12. when you have been given a prompt, one of us will put prompted. it'll be my job to do it, unless i'm not here, then it'll be down to another judge.

I've been harping on this particular word for many months now.
Sensual means-of the senses.
No more, no less.
To that end, a write is not complete unless it's felt, tasted, envisioned, heard, smelled.
Otherwise, they're just words on a page.
Okay, enough. Prompt me please, before I lose my nerve..? lol, thank you.
PS- I love The Shining, as King is one of the funniest writers I've ever read. I bet you like Coen Bros movies too, huh?

My favorite King novel was probably Pet Cemetery, but I loved The Stand, Carrie, Christine. The novel It scared the living daylights out of me. Tommyknockers was good, mostly.
I really really loved his Dark Tower series...but honestly-there are only two or three that he's written in the last 20 years that I cared anything about. His short stories under the name Richard Bachman-excellent.
