History

Write a poem about history an era or a historical figure or that is your favourite or you have the most knowledge about .

you can write about anything , their lifestyle, what it would be like to be them , their personality , their looks their relationships , the person doing something simple as walking through a marble hall way or sitting on a throne , what they think like or all of these , whatever you like.

Make it colourful , use imagery and metaphors

IMAGERY
METAPHORES
DESCRIPTIVE
BEAUTY
CREATIVITY
or you will be dqed

Be imaginative and describe things well , be observant on your topic , person or era and use intricate language and creative words.

If you write about a woman or a queen I would prefer that you write about their looks and style and personality in a imaginative and in depth wonderful way.

Please do not write about anybody modern.

Do not try to mix anything modern in your poetry , don’t try to put anything emo or new aged style in it, keep it clean and traditional.

Some historical people/eras that I can think of at this moment that I would prefer that you write about .
- Marie Antoinette
- King Louis XV
- French revolution
- King Henry VIII and his six wives
- Queen Elizabeth or the golden age
- Cleopatra
- Cesar and his love story with Cleopatra
- Mozart or your favourite composer
- Vincent van Gough or your favourite impressionist artist
- Edgar Allan Poe
- Hans Christian Anderson
- A Greek go/goddess , Greek mythology
- Michelangelo or Botticelli , an Italian artist
- A philosopher of your choice
- Al Capone (being the most modern I am allowing)
- A famous geisha of some sort
- Medieval times ,sir Lancelot, Guinevere, Merlin and/or King Arthur
- William Shakespeare and his stories such as Romeo and Juliet
- Anastasia/Russian history
- Another glamorous queen, baroness ,countess, dutches or princess (like Marie Antoinette)that you can think of k
- Anybody interesting in general

If you can think of anyone as brilliant as these please write about them
please be clear about who you write or list it somewhere where i can see. k
Any questions ask me Katiiiiiiiiiik

I prefer rhyme but free verse and prose are ok too.

Nothing too long , I have a short attention span

I don’t care much for grammar but I do look at flow and creativity

No swearing , nothing offensive , no religion, nothing evil or dull ,no blood or gore or any sort of violence in detail , I can take mild erotica better than violence , be tasteful.

No sTiCkY cApS or CAPS LOCK

Be brilliant , I know you can

Ready ,set, go ! =)  k

  • Hey

I FORGOT TO MENTION , the poems must have to have something to do with history , please make it ovious to me about who you are writing about in your poem , if it is not ovious then send me a message or write it in your aurthors notes . if your poem has already won a trophy it would be best if you dont add it k

    • Well, My poem isn't really about a famous historical person..but i figured that I'd enter it. If it's not suited for this contest, feel free to delete it.
