why is PREWRITES in capital letters, you ask? because the people of AP are lazy and are drawn in to contests by that word.

abecedarian: (ay-bee-see-DARE-e-an)
2. a beginner in any field.
the point of this contest is to help poets improve. obviously, you have to have a certain level of brilliance in order to get past this contest, which is the auditions.
enter your best prewrite,
and each judge (there's three , me and emma and Jordan) will comment your piece with a yes or a no. two yeses mean you go on to the next round.
keep in mind that the prompts will get insanely hard.
you have to give your all to this contest
and be willing to improve and stay dedicated.
rules:
-no rhyme
-no adult
-prose/freeverse
please space out your name in the AN, like so: q u i x o t i c . / y o u s l e s s . / W r i t i n g 0 F r e e d o m
EDIT - you'll get very heavy and harsh critique in future rounds. we won't critique your auditioning piece, because if you don't make it in, that means you don't have the type of poetic gift we're looking for, and pointing out what we DON'T like, would make you think NOBODY likes it, but it doesn't mean that- it means you simply write in a style different than what we like. so don't get rude if you get a no.
EDIT - the judges may enter each round, just for critique from the other judges. we will not allow ourselves to win, though.
Contest is Over
- Contest was judged on July 11
- Rewards: Gold: 300, Silver: 100, Bronze: 50
- Final notes: congratulations everyone, you were all great. make sure you check to see if you made it to the next round. if you're in the finalists list, you did.
we will send each of you a message as soon as we post round one up, and you'll all be expected to enter, because when you auditioned, you told us you were committed. now you have to BE committed.
♥thanks for entering!

Nevermind =P I have two yeses and a no. v.v' Silly me. -
thank you for silver dearies.
I can't wait for the first challenge
-
I'm a little confused. I only got one yes and there was nothing from the other judge. I'd at least like to know what she (lucretia.) thought about it, even if you don't want to put me through.
Thanks,
--Katie. -
i'm a bit confused I got a comment from one of the judges saying yes but no comments from the others. Does no comment equal a no?
