A random conversation got me interested in this man, especially the fact that he could not share his beliefs for a very long time.
I'd like to read some brilliant poems about anything that has to do with Darwin or what he studied, or believed.
Here are some quotes I found by him. You can also be inspěred by any one of these, and use them as a prompt. (please put in Author's Notes)
"What a book a devil's chaplain might write on the clumsy, wasteful, blundering, low, and horribly cruel work of nature!”
"To suppose that the eye with all its inimitable contrivances for adjusting the focus to different distances, for admitting different amounts of light, and for the correction of spherical and chromatic aberration, could have been formed by natural selection, seems, I freely confess, absurd in the highest degree.”
"The universe we observe has precisely the properties we should expect if there is, at bottom, no design, no purpose, no evil, no good, nothing but blind, pitiless indifference”
"The highest possible stage in moral culture is when we recognize that we ought to control our thoughts.”
Here are some websites with a ridiculous amount of information as well as a letter from Charles Darwin.

I've got a sort of longinsh essay on Darwin coupled with a poem. I fear it may be too long. So, should I consider another type of entry? or should i just go for it with the long essay/poem
-
-
I think it would be very interestinbg for everyone to read your essay, and I'll consider the poem that goes with it as your entry. How does that sound?
-
-
... i will go look it up and make sure it is up to my game ...
thank you

Thank you for hosting an *ahem* evolutionary contest, Suzanne.
Thank you for the bronze trophy, too. Congratulations to Danny, Jonathan & all those who chose to enter such an intelligent contest. We're not really used to those, ya know.
