DON’T ENTER IF YOU AREN’T COMMITTED TO MOVING ONTO THE NEXT THREE ROUNDS.
This will be a four part rounds contest:
First round (50 anonymous entrants/30 will advance):
Dark pre-writes or fresh writes
Second round (30 non-anonymous entrants/20 will advance):
Dark word bank – 15 words must be used (fresh writes)
Third round (20 non-anonymous entrants/10 will advance):
Dark titles (fresh writes)
Fourth round (10 non-anonymous entrants/3 winners):
Dark pictures (fresh writes)
(The non-anonymous rounds contests are to keep the uninvited out)
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
For this round (the First), enter a dark or creepy write. It’s that simple. But there are some rules, so please heed them:
1. Be nice and courteous to me and the other poets.
2. Try to comment on at least one other work. Poets love to get feedback. Admit it. You know you do!
3. Do not molest your Caps key.
4. No prose or dirty pretty or chat talk
5. Limit profanity.
6. Credit any photos in your author notes.
7. Any genre, any form welcome, 'cept see #4
8. Good spelling and grammar is a must!
9. Nothing over 75 lines. I get bored easily.
10. Mark adult appropriately.
11. No emo/cutting/whiny bullshit.
12. Have fun.
DON’T ENTER IF YOU AREN’T COMMITTED TO MOVING ONTO THE NEXT THREE ROUNDS.
I WILL HUNT YOU DOWN AND SICK MY COUGAR AFTER YOU!!!
And with that, have a nice day
Contest is Over
- Contest was judged on July 11
- Rewards: Gold: 600, Silver: 400, Bronze: 200, Honorable mention: 5 people
- Final notes: PLEASE LEAVE YOUR POEMS IN THIS CONTEST, ESPECIALLY IF YOU'RE IN THE TOP 32. I need to set up the second rounds contest, and I won't know who's invited if you pull your poem!!!
Onto comments......This was fun! So many great entries. I had it narrowed down to 45, then 40. I had a heck of a time whittling it down to the 30 I promised, thus 32 have advanced. Placing the top 5 was mind-bending, though gold stuck out immediately. Thank so much for taking on this daring challenge, fine poets.
For those who have advanced.....see you soon. Contest will be up by the end of the weekend. And remember, my cougar loves sweet, tender flesh. He won't turn his nose up at old, tough flesh either. BE THERE! Kim
you kill me with the number 4, pun intended.
I would enter many more of your contests if you'd not include prose in that statement.
I get the 'dirty pretty or chat talk.'
What's so wrong with prose?
cannot prose be a form of poetry too?
okay, I'll stop whining.
Your contest shall be a hit without me, obviously.
take care.
