hush (letter contest)

there is something so alluring about strangers, something anarchic.
beautiful, perhaps. there is something about losing sleep, and being
inconceivably hungry for something you cannot name that it is

rather romantic and can be spoken in the deepest hush of one's eye.

I am so sorry I didn't comment on them all. I read them and took them to heart, but ultimately, I only had voice for my Gold.

  • haha i know i have to write one for you soon, things have just been so damn hectic.

  • why is everyone asking for the persons birth name in these letter-writing contests?

    • I'm sure it's not appropriate.

Not sure. I have been asking since I started it. I suppose it is because everyone wants a connection, some form of intimacy with another. Someone doesn't want to feel so alone.
      Hope that helps.

      • predators collect information by asking for a little info here, and a little there, collecting data over maybe months or years at a time, depending on who they are targeting. Asking for someone to post their birth name in contests is a way of victimizing a large number of people that may be dumb enough to put their real name there.

It is not necessary to be asking a stranger to write you a letter for a contest and to give their true names to you too. And it would be a human compassion on your part as the contest host to not be requesting this of others, allow a fake; they're possibly giving fake names anyway..... but just in case, don't ask for birth-names, please. ...... (posting here too)

        • you can just put your first name.

        • Hi.
I want to be a publicly known writer.
My name is Mark Allen Griffin. I live in Jacksonville, Florida.
Anyone can ask anyone anything they like. It's up to the person to comply or not. In the case of minors parental guidance is suggested.
