This contest could turn our great, or it could be shit. Here goes nothing.
For this contest you have two options; god and sex. Please, please, read each description carefully to know what I am looking for in each option. I am picky with these two subjects.
1) god
Really, I want religious symbolism for this option. It could be any biblical reference, not limited just to god. However, I am NOT looking for praise/worship poems. Not that I have a problem with those, but this is not the contest for them. Also, the entire poem does not need to be spiritual. Example;
"Daddy, I have had to kill you.
You died before I had time ----
Marble-heavy, a bag full of God,
Ghastly statue with one gray toe
Big as a Frisco seal"

2) sex
Okay, no full-fledged porn or erotica. That is NOT what I want. Sensual, sultry, dark; all that is fine. Just the mere hinting or having the word in your poem is fine as well. Again, it doesn't have to be about having sex. Here is an excerpt from e.e. cummings poem "between the breasts" as an example:
"Marj's cleancornered strokable
body these men's
fingers toss trunks
shuffle sacks spin kegs they
curl
loving
around
beers
the world has
these men's hands but their
bodies big and boozing
belong to
Marj"
I prefer:
Left align
Plain backgrounds
Freeverse poetry OR prose
correct grammar/spelling
Go for it.

I'm curious about your "god" option... are we limited to writing about the Biblical god? If so, that's fine, I'm just curious if other spiritualities would fit under that heading.

I think most brilliant poetry is written about Sex or God (preferably together). I just might have to try to write for this
