Contest is Over

  • Contest was judged on July 11
  • Rewards: Gold: 300, Silver: 200, Bronze: 100, Honorable mention: 1 people
  • Final notes:
Thank you to all who entered the
    contest and followed the rules.
The winners are selected because I felt that they most clearly followed the quote
    from WB Yeats' "The Statues."

    GOLD: Empty (Rictameter)
    introspective, thoughtful, nicely done.

SILVER: silent repose (says it all)

    BRONZE: The Pioneer Mother, Prose
This piece weaves the reader back
to the "Mother" who seems to have
    empty eyeballs, and the background
surrounding her, is "all the show."

    Honorable Mention: Clepsydral Mirror
For clarification for anyone who is
wondering why I awarded this poem which did not place "Empty Eyeballs"
into the AN's, it is because the author
IM to me informing me that since they were no longer a Gold Member they could not do so and retain the original form of their piece; therefore, it was not
    an oversight or an omission.

For everyone else who entered, all of you omitted the rule for Author Notes and
your entries did not in my eyes follow
    the Yeats prompt.

    Congratulations to all the finalists
    and to the Trophy Takers.

    till next time
    best wishes and
    stay
    liquid

  • Thank You ...

so much for your kind comments and for holding contests that challenge me to write something new! You seem to hold high standards and I seem to fall into them easily. I do appreciate the trophy & points but more so the feedback that I so need to hear. joy
