We have now reached the Top 8:
Adoles
angela.
blackberry
CitrineSunrise
color me silent
dranking-legs
Fug-azi
sideways hourglass
After our little break, we are going to start a little slack - but with a little challenge at the same time.
We won't have the strict rules and regulations we had last round, but we do have something that will make you step out of your box completely.
This round, you will be doing Characterisation.
Ryan and I have chosen a few photos with a character that will clash from your usual style of writing - in terms of personality, gender or situation. You have to create the "sense" of another, as though they are real through the poem - like an author does in a book, but still using poetic devices, imagery, phrasing, tone, etc.
Each poet here will get one picture. You have to write using that picture, that character. No exchanges are allowed.
Here's the list (look for your name):
Adoles

blackberry
Credit: Father

CitrineSunrise

color me silent

dranking-legs
Credit: Young Man
Fug-azi

When you are writing your character, you have to keep in mind that you're not writing about yourselves, you are creating a whole other person - their background, their emotions, their ambitions and their lifestyle. You can use your previous emotions and past experiences to help inspire your character - but you are not your character.
Goodluck!
Contest is Over
- Contest was judged on June 29
- Rewards: Gold: 400, Silver: 200, Bronze: 100
- Final notes:
So! We've finally judged.
These are the scores we have
1) sideways hourglass - 194
2) angela. - 193
3) blackberry - 187
4) adsaige - 185
5) citrinesunrise - 180
5) fug-azi - 180
6) dranking-legs - 179
From the 8 contestants, we're down to 7 as Color Me Silent had to leave for personal reasons - and so we've decided not to eliminate anyone.
As you can see, the scores are really close and each round someone else is winning - unpredictable, unplanned.
So we'll be seeing you all next round, shortly [you'll perhaps see it up today!]
See you!
Ryan & Chandni.

Shoot, you weren't supposed to like it! LOL

It reminds me of a lot of guys that I hang out with. So it actually shouldn't be that difficult.

bookmarked.
-
oh dear.
do i have to write for two people? D:
-
-
Not entirely - we'll leave it up to you
-
-
xD does it matter one way or the other?
should it be like a back and forth thing?
or just pick one?
D:
-
-
You should probably choose one or the other in your picture, I would actually suggest it. However, if you think you can pull off a characterization of both, I won't stop you. Both third and first person are okay, as long as the character comes through.
-
-
oh, and what perspective should i be writing from?
third person?
first person?

I believe I received the most outrageous and outstanding prompt. You must have had fun finding this one for me. I hope my poem does it justice.
