A Challenging Frenzy of Emotion

There are a lot of poems that advertise quickies and what seems like fluff (no offense if you yourself have held one), but here is my point:
This is not that kind of contest.

If you choose to enter, I want you to show me emotions that have been buried under walls, or feelings that have carried you to the tops of the world. I want you to show me poems that you wrote simply because you couldn't hold that feeling inside anymore. Emotions are what keeps us human.
Or you could go the opposite route and reveal that you're trying to keep from expressing emotion: a robot. But a poetic and beautiful robot.
Beauty can be horrific and repulsive, as well.

I enjoy new styles of writing, I love when writers think outside of the box and use metaphors and imagery no one else would have thought to use.

All in all I want you to take my hand and force me to travel though your mind, to show me what you were thinking when whatever was happening. To literally make me feel what you felt.

There are many poets who I believe will do very well in this contest, and I wish you all good luck!

Just a few requirements:

- I do not like crazy TyPinG
- Please keep the length less than that of a novel
- Impress me, please
- I will not accept works that have already placed in another contest
  (1st, 2nd, 3rd, and HM)

Again, good luck!!

Contest is Over

  • Contest was judged on June 25
  • Rewards: Gold: 400, Silver: 200, Bronze: 100, Honorable mention: 1 people
  • Final notes:
Thank you all so very, very much for entering this contest. I had to read and re-read so many of your entries to make sure I got exactly what I wanted. In the end I went with my gut and chose the pieces that grabbed me and forced me into their worlds. I encourage you all to read each other's works, especially our winners and finalists, because I know you'll be as impressed as I was. Great job!!
