Telos - positive poetry - 3000pts up for grabs+ honorable mentions

Please read the rules, if they are not followed your entry will be disqualified.

This contest is about love, patience, understanding and self-worth. It's about chosing to see the positive in your life. I want you to search inside yourself and find what is good about yourself and others, about this world. It's about creating Heaven on earth, and what it takes to get there, and so much more.

Bring in your "alternative", spiritual side if you like (auras, healing, spiritual development and so on), bring in religion if that suits you best, or do neither or something else all together, the choice is yours.

Gold: 2000pts
Silver: 700pts
Bronze: 300pts

5 Honorable mentions: 30pts
_______________________________________________________________________
I will comment on EVERY entry, and you may make changes to your poem up untill the contest is closed. Since I believe in giving people a break; I will take changes into consideration when judging.

If there are few entries, I might keep the contest open a little longer, so please help me promote this to make sure I can close it on time (minimum 50 entries)

Here are your options, you can write about (these are not meant to be titles):
1. Telos and the lemurians - if you don't know what this is, you can find information on these links: http://www.diannerobbins.com/dux1.html http://www.lemurianconnection.com/en/about-lemuria-telos.htm http://www.mountshastawisdomproject.com/Teloscity.htm

2. Starting each day with a positive thought

3. "I approve of myself"

4. What true love (not romantic) can do/what true love is

5. Peace on earth(between all species and all kinds)

6. Raising your vibration

7. What can I do to make a better world?

8. How to be patient

9. Meditation

10. You are all gods (you can create your own reality, your own life)
***

Rules:
- You can enter 5 poems each, but only one prewrite and only along with a new poem (if you submit a prewrite, you need to list the names of the other poems in your author's notes on your prewrite - so I can see that everyone sticks to the one prewrite-rule, if this is not done, the prewrite will be disqualified)
- If you choose to write more than three, you also have the 11th option to write about what you like, as long as is fits the idea of the two beginning sentences in this contest
- Keep it positive
- No romantic love poems
- Spellcheck your poetry
- No sticKy CApS
- Provide constructive critique to the poem listed after your own
- Read a couple of poems in the contest and nominate one poem in the contest that you particulary liked (not your own)

***
Hints:
- I am a fan of form-poetry and rhyme, so if you write a poem that doesn't rhyme or doesn't have a form, it has to be extra good in order to win (but everything has a chance to win)
- sarcasm and foul language has no place in this contest
- The nomination will not effect my judging
- if you enter a prewrite, make sure it fits the idea of this contest (no romantic poetry - it's not about personal love, but divine, unconditional love, and nothing negative)

Contest is Over

  • Contest was judged on June 29
  • Rewards: Gold: 2000, Silver: 700, Bronze: 300, Honorable mention: 5 people
  • Final notes:
This has been a particularly difficult contest to judge, because there were so many poems that really hit home, and I would have liked to give all of them a trophy. I have put the honorable mentions in about the order I feel they should be. I am sorry it has taken so long, but I hope it has been worth the wait.

I have chosen Friendly faces for the gold trophy, because it is easy to comprehend, has a perfect flow and a great rhyme and it speaks to my heart.

The silver is given to Tantric breath, which also has a great form, and speaks about meditation in a meditative way (imagine that!)

Spirit's refrain is awarded the bronze, because of its impecable form (a trijan refrain) and because it says something profound about how spirituality sometimes is received.

The one who got the most nominations from all of you will receive 50pts, and the one most nominated was: Spirit's refrain

Some of you may wonder why your poem is not among the finalists. Of course this is a contest by me, and my personal taste has a lot to do with it, but also I invite you to re-read the rules and tips carefully, and I am sure that will help clear things up.

    The honorable mentions are:
    - Universal prayer
    - So
    - You can think too!
    - Alone with glass
    - Simplistic
    ***
Thank you all for entering and making this contest so difficult to judge

    Love
    Isi

    Viewed by judge...

I'd like to just give a note that I like peeking in on the entries of the contest and I will sit down to comment on them later (right now its 12.30 at night here, so I wouldn't be able to give a good enough comment, and then I'd rather wait with the comments untill tomorrow)

Good luck to all of you, and feel free to ask me any questions you may have about the contest
