My first contest, go me. So I've been on AP on and off for years and I've noticed that some people, like myself, have issues with finding like-minded poets to share poems with and discuss things with. So I thought I'd throw myself out there and see what comes back.
Now, what I want is not just to find a good poem to give a trophy too, I want favorites and if anyone should happen to favorite other people, the more the merrier. It's sad when poetry goes unappreciated, as well as the author.
For the rules, the general stuff applies, proper spelling and all that jazz. If you rhyme, please be good at it, I don't like repeats.
I will allow prewrites, because sometimes you write a poem and you look for contests and it's hard to find what to put that poem in. Don't let your inner creativity be ignored! (If you write a new one, good for you) But try to tone down on the teen angsty stuff. We've all been there, but I do love things with good imagery. If it hurts, make a masterpiece out of it, don't just say it.
I will try to comment on all who enter, it is only fair, but real life does distract from good reading lately.
Now, in case you all forgot, I'm looking for people to favorite so be warned. o.O I do prefer darker poetry so if you have any, bring it on.
Let the games begin people! Chop, chop!
