It's a fun group and we're inviting new members so don't be afraid to apply... we don't shoot anyone or anything like that
Okay, Partners, we all have favorites of those wonderful Fairy Tales and Fables children's stories. You know the ones... like Cinderella, Rumplesteltskin (or however that's spelled), The Big Bad Wolf, The Three Bears. The Three Little Pigs, etc.
For this contest you are to write wacky, funny, ridiculous poems based upon those stories.
Have some fun with it
Your poem must be entirely your own without using lines from the original story.
There are two options:
1. Your wacky poem inspired by a story.
2. A wacky poem not necessarily inspired by a story.
There are a few rules, some of which are especially important.
1. Your poem must be your own composition with no use of actual lines from the original story. You may include a few words as to whom or what the poem is inspired by.
2. In your author notes, put the name of the story which inspired you and if possible the author. You can usually find it through an internet search using the name of the story.
3. You may enter twice.
4. Prewrites are allowed as a second poem only.
5. You may enter a wacky poem not inspired by a story.
6. Have fun !!
7.Please put the title of the original Fairy Tale or Fable and it’s author in your author notes. This information can usually be found on the internet by using the poem title as the search subject. Also put which option(s) you chose.
When the contest ends, please be sure to get your votes in within 48 hours to be eligable for the final voting.
Gold winner will be responsible for co-hosting the next contest. Be sure to read the rules posted on the group board as there have been some recent modifications.
