Contest #216 Going Back Home

My husband has just gone back to work after being off for 2 months with health problems. Since it was an illness, we had no income at all to help with our bills and had to depend on donations as well as selling some prized possessions. I don’t work and it was a scary time for us and made us start to rethink our lives.

We decided to remodel my childhood home and sell the one we live in now. This way we won’t have a mortgage hanging over our head if something like this happens again.

Anyway, the point of this contest is about going back home, back to your roots, the town where you grew up. Maybe even the house you use to live in.

What I want are poems about happy times you had growing up or poems about how things have changed since you moved away, etc.

Please keep your entries lighthearted.

This is subject to close when I see fit.

Have fun and enter as many times as you want.
The ones I like best win. It’s as simple as that.

Thanks for reading,
Cathy

    Sis
I would truly love to enter this contest, but alas my roots are in Kenya and I will never return there to live.
But I wish you all the best with this great contest

On the other note, my thoughts remain with you all
and who knows a fresh start going back to your roots is the tonic and taste of new beginnings. Which will be beautiful for you
    Love you xx

I am saddened in hearing about your struggle. Hope he's recouped 100%.
So many are having a hard rough row to hoe these dazes. It's unreal!

I'm so sorry to read of your problems, and hope things will be better for you.

Home is such a strange place...we struggle to leave, and spend the rest of our lives finding our way back, somehow. Yet, even if it is now only rubble, some spirit always remains attached to the place.
