Okay...now that's out of the way:
Subject: Rip Nam's Heart Out!
We want you to enter a love poem that metaphorically rips Nam's heart out of his chest. Meaning: we want you to make Nam cry or at least come to that brink of crying. You may think this is an easy task but it isn't. If you know Nam then you know it isn't. If you've heard of Nam you know it isn't. If you never heard of Nam, and you think you're cocky enough to do it, you have no idea what you're getting yourself into but you'll find out.
The Rules:
1. If we point out a spelling error or what we perceive to be a grammatical error and tell you to fix it, you fix it without hesitation even if we're wrong or your entry will be removed.
2. If we feel that a line could be better written, and suggest to you what it should be. You have to change it or your entry will be removed.
3. If after we make the suggestions listed in #1 and #2 and still don't like it. We'll remove it. But you can enter again if you wish to go through such criticism again.
4. If you enter a prewrite, which you can, and we make the suggestions above and you don't follow any of #1 and #2, your entry will be removed. You can always change it back after the Contest.
5. This should not be a poem about Nam, to Nam, or even suggestively so. It's just an every day love poem. It can be sad, it can be happy, wanting, cliche. Whatever. The only effect you're going for (except for good writing) is to make Nam cry or at least to the brink of it.
6. Brutal honesty will be given by Nam and Nicole Hanna. If you do not like Brutal honesty, this probably isn't going to be the Contest you want to enter.
7. Poems only. Nicole may be able to enjoy prose or short stories but Nam has a short attention span, and he can't. So, it'll be in your best interest to only post poems.
8. If you decide to enter....good luck. You're going to need it.

- Rewards: Gold: 1200, Silver: 500, Bronze: 300
- Final notes: Just so it's said, not one person even came close to ripping Nam's heart out and you should all feel ashamed of yourselves for not doing a little research before blindly entering.
He's not all that hard to figure out.
However, that's not to say there wasn't some fine poetry in this contest (guidelines apparently be damned ) which we felt deserved a little recognition regardless.
I hope you'll all take the time to read the winners, and we thank you for playing our little game.
