Words For Sandra Cantu's Family

The devastating loss of a child can be so overwhelming that focus is not only
on the shock of the tormented little one, but the aftermath of unimaginable grief for the family and friends. After all, they must go on and find some kind of peace in the midst of it.

My goal is to send all entries to the Cantu family whose 8 year old, Sandra was taken by a horrific murder, via News Networks and let them know we are in their corner, understanding any reaction they may be having now.

Though there will be only one Gold trophy winner in this contest, I would love
the authors to truly offer their pieces as a kind of ministry so I will be giving
Honorable Mentions.
Give your best edited work, please!

  • Final notes:
    Dearest Poets,
I had to wade through much emotion before choosing. As I said in the criteria, I will send each of these to the family, but for the sake of its focus TO the family, I had to choose the ones which met that need rather than the ones who beautifully voiced the soul of the child.

Due to the subject matter, I had to make exception for several, including the HM's I intended to give because of the line limit requirements. Always check the rules to see if it best meets that in the future Sorry for any confusion.
We strive to be the best poets ever.

Thank you so much for your participation. Each of you will be remembered by me as well.

Bless you and your poetic pens!

    Warmly, CookieZeal/Dianne

A beautiful thought from a tender heart, I'll be sure to give something! Thanks sweetie, I hope the family will find some peace quickly, my heart goes out to them...Anna-Marie.

  • I will keep the family in my prayers. It truly is unfortunate that something like this could ever happen. I hope the family likes all of our poems and I hope that they might help even a little. God Bless!
