Your Best Rhymes

Another contest.

This time I would like to see your best rhyming poetry - but there are a few conditions to accompany this.

Firstly I'm back at work this week - so I don't want anything over 16 lines, (ish - but don't take the mick!!) too much and it might be overwhelming - lack of time!

The subject matter can be anything you like once again but -

and please read this bit -
I like imagery - nature - emotions - deep thoughts

so when I'm choosing my finalists, poems with the above are more likely to be in the list. Also remember I choose my winners by what appeals to me, not by which is the 'best written' poem as such. As with everyone, it's all about taste.

Please use spell-check - it's there for a reason.

Lastly, if anyone has blatantly not read these guidelines, I'll DQ, but don't take offence - it's just annoying if that happens.

I'll add HM's as we go along and my points build up, running a little low

Good luck and above all have fun

NOTE: When I say no longer than 16 lines ish i mean by a line or two - not 10 or 20!!!

Contest is Over

  • Contest was judged on April 18
  • Rewards: Gold: 250, Silver: 100, Bronze: 50, Honorable mention: 4 people
  • Final notes:
Thank you once again to everybody who entered this contest, the standard was extremely high and there were many excellent poems which usually would easily have made the finalists list.

As it stands all those who are in the finalists list are the poems which I considered outstanding and appealed to me particularly - well done to all of you.

Once again - many thanks to you all.
