Lost in the green grass and blue skies”
The above quote is a line from the song “Tomorrow Tonight” by Jesse Malin and is my inspiration for April’s contest.
Your prompt is: "It was/is me in the picture..."
First, select any picture, painting or photo which appeals to you. It can be a snapshot (not necessarily one of your own) , a famous work of art or create your own if you are so inclined.
Second, choose an element within the picture and write from that point of view. It could be anything from a tree in a landscape to a toaster to a person, including yourself, if you so choose.
I would like each participant to include the picture in their entry along with crediting the image in your author notes. For those without picture posting capability, please provide a link to your picture in you AN and IM me and I will gladly post it for you.

Please don’t use the prompt in your title.
Have fun and let your creativity soar.

Cool, pixie, imaginative from any POV!

Thanks Aes. I hope everyone else feels the same way.

So many possibilites, even a chance for the Castle Ghost!
-
Why can't I use the prompt in the title? What if winning and losing depends on a finial thread that can be spun only by using the prompt in the title?
If a picture is worth a 1000 words do I really have to include a poem?
Can you rig the voting so I will win? There is 9 points in it if you can.

Answers to your questions...
1. Because I said so.
2. Tough luck
3. Lame
4. No

Did you get bored while answering my questions because each one got eerily shorter, including the smilie.
You do know that I'm not going to pay the least attention to any of your arbitrary rules? -
-
Isn't that cool how that worked out?

Don't make me have to use my "AUTHORITY".

I have a well and Sir Ima has matches and we both like fried Pixie.
-
-
A fried Pixie wouldn't put a dent in your lummox appetite.

I'm glad you can't vote in this contest.
-
-
Whatever.
-
-
Sure, dismiss me. But just like cutting poetry...I never go away.
-
-
Apparently you don't and that's a good thing

Do you have to actually see the element in the photo? What if I can prove that it is there even if you can't see it?
What if I enter a picture of Muffles? Most people in the contest won't know what I am talking about because they NEVER read my wonderful writing.
-
-
Go for it.
I wouldn't recommend exhuming Muffles. Some people might be offended.

You want too much. I'm not entering. I'm quitting AllPoetry anyway. Just too many rules, too much stupid stuff going on here. Good luck with the contest.

I will be away from home for the commenting and voting time, and cannot participate this time. Since this is a special holiday for me, it is not all regret!
May all Huguenauties have a fun and interesting competition, and let the best poem win.

We will miss you Margaret. Hope you have a wonderful time.

Pixie, you've got the contest ending on June 22nd not April

Angelica, my apologies for not responding sooner. It looks like our dear King must have bailed me out by making the corrections on the contest page.
Thanks for the alert.

No picture of an old lady available.
I do not have an archive of photos and no way to use it if I did. Some frail old lady (centenarian) rocking-chairing the last years would do. I remember seeing one but that was ten years ago! The poem I just wrote is not a prewrite!! It was written for this contest!

Dear Everyone!
As Queen Edna's son (Prince Paul) has just arrived from London to stay at Chateau Wyles for a week, I won't be spending much time on my computer so ask for your patience until he departs next weekend, after which I shall catch up on my commenting on the latest entries.
Furthermore, there will be no Weekend Bulletin issued this week.
Thankyou all for your understanding. Hope you are having a HAPPY EASTER.
Love and hugs, XXX Hugh (R.) -

Poor Sir Ima, ripped off again!

Congratulations to Pixiestix for her efficient conduct of a really splendid contest. Her imaginative option attracted and inspired some really first-class poetry. I am, personally, thrilled with the voting results which gave well deserved awards to the three top winners and the HM's.
Thanks to all who entered the contest and voted so promptly.
Now we await Catz' announcement of Contest #44 on May ist.
Love and hugs to all XXX Hugh (R.) -
