RULES:

 

1, I would prefer free verse or if rhyming make sure it doesn't sound forced.

2, New writes only.
3, No busy backgrounds please.
4, Clear distinction between text and background colours if used.
5, Try to be expansive and positive with your thoughts.
6. Try to take yourself there, rather than bringing 'it' to yourself.
7. Avoid intellectual theory from dominating a sense of immediate 'taste' and perception.
8. Use the power of your creative imagination to step fully into the prompt.

NOTE: 'immediate perception' or 'taste' = being 'in' it rather than talking about it from a distance.

Any entries not seen to have reflected any of these listed, will most likely be overlooked.

  • Final notes:
    The responses to this contest way surpassed anything I may have imagined. You have all played a large part in very successfully 'entering the cave' and topping up my faith in humanity by the way in which you've done so... which is no small deed, in my book.
    It is always hard to judge contests, especially when they are responded to in the way that this one has.
    However, I do feel quite clear on my top six including honourable mentions, even though various considerations, led me to shuffle them around before settling on the final order. One of the main ones being the 'heart' I believe to have gone into it. The honours are not ranked in any position to one another and I do wish they could also be 'shiny ones' as they certainly deserve.
    Much gratitude for all your wonderful entries.
