She was a legend:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fkGUt4QYc08&feature=related
but all I want you to do is to get inspired by the song
the way she makes you feel
.....................................................and then write
it's pretty easy really
- to love somebody
go for it
Rules:
do not write about Janis Joplin!!!!!!!!
please no end line ryhyme
use grammar
imagery
metaphor
and any other poetic devices apart from end line rhyme unless you are the dog's bollocks at it!! okay
this is big point poetry, so i expect good poetry, don't write claptrap dishcloth poetry..........

Janis Joplin on The Dick Cavett Show ! My all time favorite late night TV show...July 18, 1969 , two days before the first men walked on the moon: Apollo 11 was freakin' flighing on its way there while Janis was singing this!
Great video, Chilly! -

"A Woman Left Lonely" is about to break outta that non~existent box.
I love Janis...& ohhh, that song...I love every version ever done. Sighhh...Not much time online these days (had to leave my 'puter behind, along with many other treasured things ~ long, UGRY story)...but, "Good Golly, Miss Molly", I'll be contemplatin' this contest, Miss Gilly Girl. I hope to return with a quasi~worthy penning. Ya ever hear her medley, "Amazing Grace/High~Heeled Sneakers"???
GOOOOOOOD stuff, Maynard.
Thanks for hosting, Sweetie...& Good luck to all who enter this Hallowed House of Soul. Be well, Poets & Scribes.

"Oh Lord, won't ya buy me a Mercedes Benz..."
