Ok, here's the deal. Discrimination of all kinds is a HUGE problem in the world today, and has been for a long time. It is time to shine the spotlight on all those who have been discriminated against in any way or for any reason. I want everyone who enters this contest to know that they are not invisible! They will be heard! and there will come a day when they no longer have to be afraid!
It's time to let it out! If you have a story to tell this is your chance, and if you know someone who is being discriminated against, or who has been discriminated against send them here to tell their story too.
I want you to write about how you have been discriminated against, how it affected your life, how it made you feel, what you did about it, etc.
I want you to write about discrimination you have seen happen against others: friends, family, acquaintances, etc. How did this affect you? How did it make you feel?
I want you to write about discrimination in general. What you think about it, how it affects the world, how it can be changed.
I want you to write about how you have discriminated against others, and how you think it affected their lives, and how it made you feel, etc.
This contest WILL run for the full 2 weeks. I WILL comment every entry. I want everyone to have a chance to make themselves heard in this contest because I don't discriminate, and I am FED UP WITH DISCRIMINATION!
Prewrites are allowed, but PLEASE make sure they fit this contest. If they don't I will DQ.
The points in this are going to be huge. I will add points as entries come in.
Any donations are much appreciated and will not affect how I judge the contest.
So, there it is. I am extremely excited about this and look forward to a lot of wonderful entries. Style is irrelevant. Write however you want. Again no discrimination.
To those of you who donated points to this contest I LOVE YOU!!!

Contest is Over
- Contest was judged on March 17
- Rewards: Gold: 12500, Silver: 12500, Bronze: 12500, Honorable mention: 5 people
- Final notes: Well, this has certainly been successful in my eyes. I am ending the contest early due to lack of new entries, but I think 84 is quite wonderful, and they were all wonderful poems.
The gold, silver, bronze of course are getting a lot of points, and I am sorry I don't have that kind of points to give the honorable...or to everyone who entered for that matter.
Anyways, I hope you enjoyed it as much as I did. I think this will be my last contest for awhile. This really took a lot of me.
Thanks for all the wonderful entries. No matter the form of discrimination you've faced I believe you all to be beautiful people.
Lauren

i will be entering...just give me time to think of something
-
I will be entering, I'll probably write it tomorrow during my feminist lit class (only thing its good for is writing peotry in) or something. I could give you a novel about this subject.
-
contest closed early... lemme know when open again, if it does. as I have been discrimnated against. Woman! Visually impaired! Judged for my partners/families actions!
yup -
It closed early..

I am so sorry!
I had nothing to do with the contest being closed. According to the admins there was a glitch that made it so setting entries to 0 (for unlimited) would instead make it 8. So, that is why it closed early and made for a really awful night for me. My stress level went through the roof.
I am happy that we worked out the problem and that my contest is back up.
