Contest is Over

  • Contest was judged on March 23
  • Rewards: Gold: 475, Silver: 125, Bronze: 95, Honorable mention: 1 people
  • Final notes:
Here is another end to a great time I had reading all your entries and trust me, they were full of life. Some made me pause and think, some took my breath away and some made me sigh!
Had I the points, I would have added more.
You are all winners and it was a delight to read your poetry.
    For the placed awards -
Lost in Thought - I considered the depth, imagery and flow to be absolutely thought-provoking.
Half a Moment - I felt love, sublime, endearing, subtly flowing and it charmed my senses and filled my heart with love. I think that's terribly effective for a poem to do.
Father Time is a Contortonist - I connected up with this poem well. I think a father-child relationship undergoes several phases and the same has been beautifully portrayed here. The weight is really close to the Silver Trophy here. It was a tough choice to make.
Farewell Chicago Flies - A well constructed piece. It had marvellous flow and what a splendid construction of words to bring about an image!

I have commented on all the entries. I loved all your poems irrespective of whether you got a trophy or not. Thank you for participating. Your poetry touched my life in endless ways.

    Have a beautiful day!
    Congratulations!

    Cheers
    Sandy

  • when we end the poem with the last promt, does it have to be the last line or can we add on to it to make it fit in more?

I would prefer that you end it with the prompt as the contest is based on the rules of the opening and closing words given in the prompt.

    Minor alteration to end prompt

Okay, I've seen the question before this, and you would prefer to end with a prompt. The end prompt I've chosen doesn't quite fit with the structure, so instead of "...where did it go?" (15) can I have "...where on earth did it go?"? It doesn't matter hugely if I can't, but I think it would flow better if I could. Otherwise it seems a bit abrupt...know what I mean?

    Thanks!
