I held a contest like this not too long ago, and I was really pleased with the way it turned out, so I am trying it again.
For this contest, you will be writing three different poems, and each of those poems will be about the same subject. You get to pick the subject you write about, but I pick the metaphor you use. The metaphors I choose are:
An egg.
A clock.
An ocean.
So, if you decide to write about death- then you would write about death as an egg in one poem, as a clock in another poem, and as an ocean in another poem. Paste all three poems into one entry, separated by the titles. If you have previously written poems that fit the prompts, you are welcome to use them, just paste them all together in one entry.
This contest will be open a full two weeks to give you time to write three poems.
Now for the dreaded rules:
No pedestrian rhyme.
No purple prose.
Show- don’t tell
No lyrics.
