If you must be depressed - express yourself in a way that would make me feel your pain but do not use everyday language - if you must use the word die, or cut then you aren't stepping outside of the box are you?
Words that I can understand in this contest is very important - if the word is something that I must look up I usually stop reading it and go view someone elses poem.
If you must be in love - express yourself in a way that would make me feel your emotions - but do not use words that is in every other love poem - if you must use the word love in your poem then you aren't stepping outside of the box are you?
If I must see a picture with the poem you might not be stepping outside of the box because if the poem can match the picture - it's a poem that I bet has been said in 60,000 other words
I will not tell you what to write. You will be your own inspiration. You can write as little as 10 words, or up to 30 lines but if it must go over 30 lines please state why in your notes. I will allow it but if I am yawning at the end - you will not win.
This contest will be opened for a couple of weeks. I may close it sooner depending on how many enter.
If you reserve please be finished the same day.
I like plain backgrounds but if you must use one please don't make it busy.
Label all poems accordingly.
You may enter twice.
I am sure you have guessed by now that I want fresh writes.
Prizes may or may not increase. All forms are welcomed but not required.
I will view them first and later comment right before I judge.
