Write a modern classic war poem.

War is clearly a terrible, controversial and destructive part of our history and our lives. And yet this extreme of human behaviour can evoke some truly stunning and poignant poetry. I want to see your best.

Please no religion/race bashing etc as I will just DQ anyway. I am looking for a glimpse into tragedy, something that Sassoon or Hughes would be proud of.

I look forward to being moved by your marvellous entries.
