AP X Factor: Round Eight [Top 5] ~ Semi Final!

Good evening!!

Last round, you were challenged to write PROSE. This round, in the semi-final, you are challenged to write two poems from two different worlds, so to speak:

Free verse

&

Rhyme.

Free verse is self-explanatory. As for rhyme: it is up to you whether or not you will use a form. That is entirely your decision.

Prompts:

1. Electric

2. a body part.

You can use either prompt for either poem, but you cannot use the same prompt for both poems.

Deadline for poem #1 [either free verse or rhyme]:
Saturday, February 28th, 2009 @ 11PM.

Deadline for poem #2 [the other poem]:
Wednesday, March 4th, 2009 @ 11PM.

ATTENTION!

No editing is allowed after the 1st judge has graded...and can only be re-commenced after the 3rd judge has graded

There will be no bottom four elimination challenge for the semi-final. This is it!

Good luck!

Contest is Over

  • Contest was judged on March 7
  • Rewards: Gold: 400, Honorable mention: 1 people
  • Final notes:
The placement you see here has nothing to do with the elimination aspect. That is totally seperate.

Trophy distribution is different in this case.

The highest scoring entry won gold.
The second highest scoring entry won silver.
    And so it goes on.

I did this under the condition that each of the top four received a trophy.

Sure, you may have scored within the top 3 twice, but...we'll just take your highest when it comes to trophy distribution.

Hopefully you'll make the sense of it on your own if I haven't explained myself clearly. lol...

Thank you for the wonderful round. :]

Question: Do the two poems need to be related or can we approch them as completely separate poems?

    Another question

Will you be combining the scores for each poem as one?

I completely forgot to post prompts. I posted them. Now that should make more sense. lol

We'll be combining the scores, yeah.

the silence in here is eerie. i hope that is a positive sign. don't you think it's creepy that no one's posted anything yet? not even to gain extra editing time
unless, of course...they fell into the bermuda triangle while we were busy blinking

    I'm truly baffled <----- see?

I pulled them off the face of the earth with me.

      • you're too nice...just be honest and spit it out...they pushed you right???

        likkle swines

it's quite the effective way of missing a semi and blaming the judge

only fing is tho...they didn't know Likkle Cassie Moo is an experienced climber & eats enough spinach to drag 5 contestants back onto earth wiv her

i'd sue...for "judge abuse"...or "grass-stained shoes whilst slipping of the face of earth"...or "defamation of a clarinet and baton" (that should do it)

        someone...please just shoot me

Likkle Cassie Moo may be thin, but she is not nimble. The mass she does have is all stored in fat, not muscle.

But, by all means, get some money for the clarinet.
