Simple

I want pieces about the real world that we live in.

No fairytales. No blanket of mushy adjectives. No beautiful embelishments on what should be simple.

I want the remnants of pink lipstick on the latte cup;
the pair of footprints that appear from a puddle.  I want the freshness of a cold pillow on a sticky August evening or the awaited chimes of half past seven.

Which ever angle you’re looking from
I want
Real       Simple        Life

Guidelines to follow:

left align
no rhyme
keep it real
use the sense of creativity you’ve been blessed with.

Note to entrants: I am already impressed with the entries. I have also made a note to myself which poems are my favourite and which may make the finalists. I'm not going to identify that to entrants in the hope some wonderful poet or poetess makes the difference and changes the final winners line up. I guess what I'm trying to say is, keep writing amazing poetry!
Points will increase as quality is entered.

GO!

Contest is Over

  • Contest was judged on March 8
  • Rewards: Gold: 400, Silver: 150, Bronze: 50, Honorable mention: 5 people
  • Final notes:
WOW aren't you a talented bunch ey?
    This was difficult to judge.

The poems who have placed (gold, silver, bronze, HM's) all spoke to me. There was a certain quality in them that I count as pure talent.
Everyone who entered did very well, there wasn't a single poem I didn't like, honestly!
    So well done everyone!!!!

    Congratulations to the winners.
