OK the terrible news comming out of Victoria has bought out the best and worst in the Aussies ...what I want you to do is write a poem that is dedicated to the Unsung heros of Bushfire disasters in Victoria ...you might want to check the news reports before you start ....here is a brief description of what is happening ...the incredible stories of heroism and compassion out ...as it stands the figures are 5000 people are homeless, 181 killed , 80+ hospitalized, 700 homes destroyed and the death toll could reach 300 as many places/towns have been burnt to the ground looking more like a war zone than well...Stories of families huddled together in their home wiped out ....carloads of people escaping the flames also perished...Hero's are also being made firemen fighting fires as personal loss, volunteers exhausted working 16 hour and more shifts, individuals saving neighbours lives at risk of their own ...everybody has rallied together to help each other ...I have never seen anything like it ...I can only say the Australian spirit is really showing...A bushfire appeal has been started by the red cross raising millions of dollars...People have donated clothes , food, toys for children , musicians are setting up rock concerts and sportsman are coming up to personally visit the staging area's when the victims are housed in tents....
It is so sad we all feel for the victims and those in the thick of it
the dreaded rules...
1.No swearing this is a contest for all ages
2.No computer speak
3.If it is not relevant I will DQ it
4.Serious work not abusive or destructive
good luck and may the best dedication piece win...

Are the fires still burning?
I saw a fast mention and picture on the TV news and heard the announcer to say the fires are still blazing in Victoria!
Thank you for the HM in such a fine contest.
