Hey Guys,
I am hosting this contest for my Mother, Jane. She is need of some encouragement due to continuing health problems. While I will not go into detail, it has been one thing after another as of late.
Normally a strong presence in our family, she has this day finally shown the toil of the burden. In all of my years, she has been the positive voice, the encourager and keeper of the faith.
I am not accustomed to seeing this side of her. I know we are all human, having frailties of the body. However I know some encouragement would bolster her spirit.
She is a member here actually, although I am not allowed to reveal her identity. for simply she only joined to leave occassional comments. However if you are on my favorites list, she has proably read your material to a degree. She is a lover of poetry, prose and good stories in general.
So if you could assist me in this endeavor, I would be most appreciative. I will leave a few comments about her below to speak of her, to give you a foundation of knowledge.
1.) 60 years of age, married 42 years, mother of three of which I am the eldest. (My sister, abovethenoise writes here as well.)
2. ) Grandmother of 4, Great Grandmother of 1 and 1 on the way. (Grandchildren who write here, Dragon of the West and Cheygurl91)
3.) Plays piano, learned to in church, which her father was pastor of.
4.) Fan of live theatre and musical productions.
5.) Great sense of humor
6.) Loves to sew and fashion crafts. Often crochets and knits glorious items.
7.) A fan of all things historical.
8.) Only recently began to learn of the true ways of her Native American ancestery. Her Indian name is Little Deer.
9..) Has a deep and abiding love for her Heavenly Father.
10.) Loves all poetry, specially that which contains a well hidden message of faith, rather in her fellow man or God above.

Know that this son has been touched by the amount of words given. I have sat with Mom, as she read through these. I watched her be touched in spirit. Niaish!
The winner, was Mom's most favorite above and beyond. She knew when she had read it, she had found the one.
The results were left up to her. Know that 2nd - 4th were all very difficult to place. The honorable mentions are in no particular order.
