Please note, though the picture is a woman I am more then aware that abuse knows no gender
I recently created a contest like this for child abuse
It made me realise that people should be able to write their story of abuse, no matter the age
I request that you don't not enter a piece in this contest that was in my last contest
Abuse is not segregated to country, race or religion
It is not specified to a part of your community
It can happen anywhere!
Physical, Sexual, Mental
There are different types of abuse that are ruining the lives of the children
that are our future
How do we expect to live in a fair, just world, when that is not
what we are providing from the get go?
Write a poem in relation to abuse of any kind, any age
Get it off your chest, the more painful - the more clear
I will comment on every single entry and points are
likely to increase depending on the response to the contest
Rules:
Do not enter a piece that was in the contest http://allpoetry.com/contest/2434293
No line limit
Dirty pretty is welcome
Only rhyme if you're good at it
The spell check is your friend
I detest chat speak and ThIs TyPiNg
Metaphors and brilliant imagery
If you use an image, credit it in your author notes
I am allowing 4 entries per person.
For EVERY PREWRITE you are
required to enter A FRESH WRITE
That means 2 Prewrites, 2 Fresh writes per person
You may reserve your fresh write but it MUST be completed by the closing of the contest and if it is not I will remove it and the corresponding prewrite
Contest is Over
- Contest was judged on March 3
- Rewards: Gold: 400, Silver: 200, Bronze: 100, Honorable mention: 5 people
- Final notes: I want to thank you all very much for entering this contest
Each tale told its own story and every story hurt.
Your words are brilliant, they have helped convey something people don't understand unless they can see life through our eyes.
Two those that placed, your stories hurt more than most. In a way that made me realise I'm not alone.
To those that did not, it does not lessen your words, or your pain. I hope you can all get through this, and suffer less.
Shari

I hope people get some relief out of penning their pain. You are beautiful for giving them a platform to do so
