Okay so I haven't had good luck with contest entries thus far. So I'm gonna try a different approach. I'm going to give you a few options to choose from. People tend be attracted to these like moths to the flame. But I'm going to be very strick on judging this one. I don't just want some little peom that you think goes with one of the options I give you. I want your best poems that you have written. Which is why I am alloing prewrites. And if I happen to not think that your poem is up to par or doesn't hold my interest. I'll boot your ass and make room for someone who can do a better job. Cause I'm setting a limit to this. And it IS a contest after all. But I'm not that harsh. More than likely you'll be fine. Well now that I've scared and confused you. Time to tell you the options!
1. Write about your teen years. Or if you are a teen, write about how you picture your years as an adult.
2. Write about depression. Not suicide, depression. It can make references to it but please no hardcore emo stuff. I'd rather have more inspirational stuff on this one and not so much "he left me, I'm am incomplete, I am...depressed" kinda stuff. Got it? Good!
3. Write about marriage. What it means to you. The moment itself. Write about it.
4. Write about my favorite band. Tool. Anything is acceptable here as long as it is about Tool.
5. Write a poem about nightmares. Ones you've had, what you think of them, are you living in one? Write!
6. One of my favorite topics. The government! You need to fuck the syst....Right...Well write about the corruption involved in it. Conspirance theories. Obama. The queen. Just trying to help ya with topics. But it just has to be on topic.
7. I am not the biggest fan of religion. I accept it but I feel as if its not really needed. One of those things. But I'd like to see a poem about the corruption of religion or the pointlessness of it.(Don't think I hate you or dislike you for believing in religion by the way. Its just my views on it. I realise how some people use it for comfort and good)
The Rules:
1. In you authors notes put the topic number that your writing about.
2. 2 poems per person
I'll comment on all that enter. Unless you suck at poems or reading rules in which that case I'll just boot ya without warning. Don't wanna put time into reading my contest. I don't wanna take time reading your poem. Simple as that.
But enough with being an ass. I really look forward to reading some good poems! Hope you enter!

marriage
my wife and I have been married for twenty six years and this poem actually came to me after the event described. Not sure if it's what you had in mind, but thought it might fit. If you find that you have a moment and would like to comment on a new comers work, I'd appreciate the feed back. thanx gray2929beard -
thank you so much for gold, very appreciated =)
