Be Inspired: Favourite Poet (Poetic Bandit Group Contest)

__

Hey everyone and welcome to another Bandit contest!

I hope to see a wealth of creativity from you all, and most especially I hope that you have fun writing and reading poems in this contest

If anyone would like to view the Bandit Group Application page, please visit the following link:

__

This contest requires you to write a poem in any style, on any topic that you would like - the restriction being that it MUST be inspired by your favourite poet.

 - in your AN you are to name that poet and write a brief explanation of how that poet inspired you: whether it is their style, a certain poem of theirs, even the influential life they had.

The poet can be a member of AP, but of course, cannot be yourself!

HM's will be added at the end of the contest, depending on the number of entries.

Contest is Over

  • Contest was judged on February 23
  • Rewards: Gold: 500, Silver: 300, Bronze: 200, Honorable mention: 2 people
  • Final notes:
This contest turned out amazingly - we have so many talented poets here at the Bandits and you guys really showed that with your poems!

The winners were hard to choose, but the people who did win were those who really showed how another poet inspired them to write something - please read the winners and the other entries to give your support.

Thank you all for entering - we hope to see you in other Bandit Contests in the future!

    Great Topic!

We all have been influenced and inspired by other poets whether they be famous or friends, this should bring a lot of interesting entries. Go Bandits!

Is the favorite poet only apply to AP? Can it be a famous poet?

The poet you pick can be a famous poet, one that has inspired you, one that speaks to your heart.

Seems like a good contest, just challenging enough for me to enjoy.
I will try to come up with something.

Oh, dearly delightful and I shall come back with my poor 'lil tattered poem in my shaking hand and lay it on the doorstep of the contest and then I will ring the bell and run and hide behind a bush and sigh.

    lol COOL contest!

Congratulations to all the winners! While I did not get each entry read, what I did read revealed a tough job ahead for the contest judge. As others have said, there are some very talented poets within Poetic Bandits. I'm so glad I was encouraged to join this lively and encouraging group.

    Luv & hugs, BonnieQ
