Write the best poem in history.

I don't care what your poem is about or what style its written in. I prefer poems that are more than a couple of lines long because most of the contests on this site seem to have stupidly short word limits imposed on them, but if your poem is short and sweet and beautiful I won't judge you negatively for it. And if you think your poem is great but I haven't recognized it as such, don't worry... It doesn't mean it's not great. It just means we have different aesthetics.

I don't enter contests on this site anymore myself, because to be honest it seems to be pointless, but I am curious to see if there are any really good poets out there. I really just want to get rid of my 'points' because I don't want to have any. Empty stomachs make for clear heads.

The last strange caveat is that if you're someone who I have spoken at length to, I may not give your poem as much credence as a random person. This is simply because I obviously like you guys and girls and respect your art more than the average loser poet and it would be unfair and nepotistic. You guys and girls already know you're great! I don't know if that seems weird, but I'm a bit weird you know?

As Ive realized all the entries are anonymous (to me anyway) so the above paragraph doesn't apply. All men (and women) are born equal it seems. And none more than others.

lots of love.

Contest is Over

  • Contest was judged on February 3
  • Rewards: Gold: 500, Silver: 300, Bronze: 100
  • Final notes:
    Whats up chupachups?

Thank you to anyone who entered my ridiculously-titled poem contest. If you feel cheated by not winning a place, take solace in the fact that I'm a ridiculously moody and impulsive person and could easily have chosen different winners depending on what day it is. So in an alternate universe you too have won this contest! But not this one.

Also, this contest, despite its wonderful title has no importance in any way whatsoever.

Nearly all the poems were wonderful and for those that weren't, shame on you!

    Just kidding.

    Thankyou

    xx

Better than The Wasteland or The Kraken or Rime of the Ancient Mariner, or Annabel Lee? (The list progresses ad infinitum, ad nauseum.)

    Wow, challenging.
