And I screamed "I love you" but you just walked away...

Love can bring joy or pain, but if you love someone who doesn't want you anymore, you're most likely not feeling the joy of it.

This is for anyone who has been there, who already is there, is watching someone there, or has put someone there. This is how I've been feeling, so make it relateable.

The point is to make me feel something.

I love rhyme and free verse just the same. I'm not a fan of dirty pretty, but you can submit it if you're really, truly good. I don't plan on DQing anyone but if your poem doesn't seem to fit the theme I will.

Erotica and sex DOES NOT fit either, so don't put any in here.

It doesn't have to be depressing and sad, because happiness can be woven into this as well. I just don't want a peppy, happy, lovey poem 'cause that's not what this is about.

Contest is Over

  • Contest was judged on February 12
  • Rewards: Gold: 450, Silver: 225, Bronze: 100, Honorable mention: 2 people
  • Final notes:
Well guys, this was extremely hard to judge, but in the end it was the poems that made me feel the most that won... not necessarily the ones with the most imagery or the ones that were the most well-written. Thank you to everyone who entered, and I'm sorry if I didn't comment your poem... I think there were a few that might have gotten left out. This was my first contest and you guys made it amazing. Like I said, it was difficult to judge, but the poems that stuck out in my mind the most, even when I was far away from my computer, ended up winning.

awh, I loved your poem, and I saw on your page that it was the first you've ever written. that's pretty amazing. the first poem I ever wrote out of my own choice isn't good enough to win anything.

Actually, this was a real event and I wrote the poem at 2 am after this event.
