I don't think being an addict has to be a bad thing, I mean, some of the strongest people I know are recovering addicts and without fighting their addictions they no doubt wouldn't have been.
We can make things how we want them to be. -

True that. It's like we were talking about before, with the counsellors being most helpful when they themselves are ex-addicts.

Wow I feel honored by the grace of God to have won gold, even though the poem was painfully written through the loss of my son due to addiction. I'm grateful to see the entries to your contest and that many are in touch with the reality of what it feels like and what addiction is caused by. Yes my hope and prayer is that through the loss of my son many will think twice before they pick up one more time. Blessings to all who entered your contest and to you for running one on this fatal issue.

I assume that most of us are genetically predisposed to having addictive personalities. I saw a documentary that explained that we have a missing gene and it's the one that protects people against addictions. Are governments willing to spend enough money on research for a cure, (especially with the economic downturn, which in my opinion is permanant)?
Ok maybe I'm being a grumpy sod but I'm also logical.
