Taken from Wikkipedia

A miracle is a visible interruption of the laws of nature, such that can only be explained by divine intervention, and is sometimes associated with a miracle-worker. Many folktales, religious texts, and people claim various events they refer to as "miraculous". People in different cultures have substantially different definitions of the word "miracle". Even within a specific religion there is often more than one of the term. Sometimes the term "miracle" may refer to the action of a supernatural being that is not a god. Thus, the term "divine intervention", by contrast, would refer specifically to the direct involvement of a deity.

In casual usage, "miracle" may also refer to any statistically unlikely but beneficial event, (such as the survival of a natural disaster) or even which regarded as "wonderful" regardless of its likelihood, such as birth. Other miracles might be: survival of a fatal illness, escaping a life threatening situation or 'beating the odds'.

Contest is Over

  • Contest was judged on January 26
  • Rewards: Gold: 600, Silver: 400, Bronze: 250, Honorable mention: 5 people
  • Final notes:
    Hi Everone,

What a contest! The three judges all had different opinions on the respective pieces. I learned that not everyone sees as I do. The theme was fun to work with and all your pieces gave us something to ponder.

    Gold-One Amazing Day
The only one that made all three judge's list. It felt personal and fit the prompt to a T.

    Silver-Last thing I remember
It scored high with me because it made me cry. The miracle of love acting through even the veil of death.

    Bronze-Vision of Heaven
A very poetic piece that showed excellent skill in its construction.

5 HM's for deserving poets who were just shy of trophy material.

Thanks to Dennis and Polly for their valued help. I enjoyed working with the both of you.

Thank you contestants and judges for a fun contest.

    Bye!

Oh, my! Thank you so much for finding "One Amazing Day" worthy of the gold. It was one amazing day among many miracles God has wrought in my life; but, this one stands out because it affected so many people. And, that's the point, isn't it?

    Luv & hugs, BonnieQ
