I am the master of the dark, fantasy, mystical and the spiritual.

I love to read the fantastic
I love the read the horrorific
I love to read mystery
I love to read the erotic/sensual

and the magickal, mystical, religious, nature loving and the spiritual

I became a poet and a writer. I learned to critique and to judge and I made some friends along the way to make my first year on AP worth every second. I am group owner of Journeys of the Mind and the Lord of Dreams. I have almost 3000 comments and 40 contests and about 400 poems.

Well, I tooted my horn quite loudly. Now, what I want is that big birthday party of a poetic contest that includes all my old friends, new friends and possible friends.

What I want is your best poem! On anything, any form, make sure it represents you at your best. I want you to tell me why it is good. Let your AN's speak that opinion. Make this memorable for me! I hope to make it such for you. This is my thanks for what you have given me.

Try to comment on other people's poems. You may find new friends also.

Rules!

1. In your AN's tell me why your poem is unique and what it means to you. Also leave me a personal note or birthday greeting. Have fun with it! I do have a warped sense of humor.

2. If erotic or adult label it as such

3. Have fun!

4. Mocking the judge is acceptable!

Contest is Over

  • Contest was judged on January 22
  • Rewards: Gold: 500, Silver: 300, Bronze: 200, Honorable mention: 5 people
  • Final notes:
    Hello my friends!

Thank you for making this my biggest contest ever. Your best work is tremendous. That's how you got to be my faves. You are some of the best people on AP and some pretty darn good poets, too.

I thank each and every one of you for making this first year here one of the best in my life.

The top three were all equal standouts. They all deserve a gold.

    Gold-The grail inside the lotus
This is video perfection. How poetry was truly meant to be experienced. Your reading was perfection. It illumined your words with a spirit that I can't deny.

    Silver-Welshday-The Kursk
Your use of difficult form is seamless with a story that comes alive in a colourful language that only you have mastered. Mairi, this is incredibly vivid.

    Bronze-Brahma Revisited
This epic is 'bloody brilliant'. I aspire to write something of this scope and complexity of thought. This metaphysical piece shows an understanding of the ultimate reality

    HM's No particular order

The moon pours white wine-This romantic piece sets the table nicely for a finish I can't ignore. The last line is priceless.

Stitching the side of meat that spits-This tongue in cheek, somewhat sarcastic piece has a style to it that I want to emulate. I love its humor and insight and thought it nailed a very difficult prompt.

Story Time Again-A childlike story that appealed to my childlike heart. I have a love of fantasy and imagination. You delivered it in a tale that touches my love of wonder.

Is no one exempt?-This is the best dark piece of the bunch. You made it because you made me cringe in horror. I betch Edgar Allen Poe is turning over in his grave.

    Personal notes to friends:

    Dragon Blue and Suezzie
Thank you for friendship and getting "Journeys of the Mind" off the ground.

Bella, Soulful Bubbles and Danzy: You are my friends that keep me thinking young and inspire me by just seeing you here.

    Mairi and maa
The two of you have most helped me to improve my writing. Thank you!

Jonathan Robin and Penman: Your styles of writing I aspire to. Men can make it on this site.

    Dragaine
You give me a lot of reads. Participate well in my group and have the fastest learning curve as a poet. When you first arrived here you were just a 'nice person'. Now you are a poetess.

    Sunior and Hawkelake:
Your mythology, fantasy and love of dark approaches mine. We learn from each other in our desire to be complete as writers and poets.

    Ears to hear you:
What can I say? Your creative energy inspired me to write my best short story ever. The gold membership allowed me to start two groups and learn the power of an image. You make me think and you make me laugh. I guess that makes you a darn good friend to have. Thank you for all you have done.

onesugar-You were my only friend on this site when I had none. You have given me more reads than anyone else. Your sweet loving nature helped me through a lot of bad days. Our closeness comes from caring.

Lonely Vampire Angel-You might be a second soul mate. Hang around! Year two could be very interesting. I no longer feel alone in this world.
