Everyone has heard of prompt contests but this one is a bit different!
I've been in a bit of a writing slump lately and so I decided to use it to put together an unusual if fun contest. I'm NOT looking for poems, prose, stories, backgrounds or anything else of that nature. YOU are giving ME the prompts! That's right, a whole new twist on the prompts contest. I want your prompts! I will try and add points as I can but the prompt that best pulls me out of my writing slump is the one that wins the gold!
I recommend that you read some of my poetry to get a taste for my writing to help you along but that is your choice. Good luck!
I will include the poem inspired from the winning prompt in my final notes.
Rules:
1. No poetry!
2. No stories!
3. Up to 5 entries per person!
4. HAVE FUN!!!

Contest is Over
- Contest was judged on December 31, 2008
- Rewards: Gold: 400, Silver: 100, Bronze: 100, Honorable mention: 2 people
- Final notes: Ok guys this was a lot of fun and thank you all for your varied and very creative prompts! I got alot that I loved but, well, I'm not as talented as I wish I was! The gold, silver, and bronze are the ones that got a poem out of me and the poems they inspired are below in the order in which they recieved trophies.
Who is it? Me, myself, or I?
They say I’m crazy, I say it’s true
Then say there’s nothing wrong with you!
First I’m insane and then I’m not
What is this; some new story plot?
Oh why, oh why; I scream in vain
Why can’t I just remain quite sane?
I call the doctor, take some pills
They, for a while, insanity kill
Well who are you? Oh, why it’s me
I swear I’m sane just let me be!
But still the men dress me in white
My arms are held to me quite tight
The little room so soft and plush!
To leave why was I in a rush?
I hear a knock deep in my mind
Who is it? Me, myself, or I?
Then one day awaken new
They tell me we’re quite done with you
Open the door, take my new shirt
It looks like I’m sane for a spurt!
Oh, they don’t know what’s wrong with you
I tell myself and then I too
As I prepare to face today
Myself asks I to come to play…

A Souls Echo
The echo of a soul is me
It’s all that’s left of what you see
At one time I was whole and pure
Joyful, happy, and demure
But then this life, it took a twist
And now my soul is sorely missed
I am a wraith, I am not free
An echo of what once was me
If only fate would give it back
Not one moment would I waste or lack
But time is stubborn and I’m here
A hollow shell of strife and fear
I only know pain and fatigue
And through the years it’s eaten me
Now all that’s left a souls echo
Just half a life that cannot go

My Dearest Tyler…
We started out so true and pure
You were my light, you were my cure
You helped me to control my pain
So that this life was not in vain
But we were young and I grew scared
I fled from you without a care
Regret would soon color my world
My love for you was soon unfurled
But you’d been hurt so callously
Your love no longer free to me
I fought, and cried, and raged in vain
My biggest loss, my heart was drained
You would not let me close you out
You’re my best friend without a doubt
But friendships not enough for me
I want you back, why can’t you see?
For seven years I screamed this cry
You kept me out, I still ask why
A shadow over each new love
You are the one I held above
No other love until that time
Could measure to my friend, divine
Finally you came to me
“Let’s try again,” you set me free
Only two weeks, we did not last
Our friendship too great from the past
“I guess it was not mean to be”
“I had to know, though, can’t you see?”
We both moved on and we lost touch
I tried to find you without luck
Then when another friend came calling
I got the news to send me crawling
Oh, Tyler, tell me, I must know
How could you take your life and go?
You stopped ME oh so many times
And then you dare to take YOUR life?
