Be Eleanor Rigby, be Father McKenzie, or do neither - pick your poison.
Eleanor Rigby by The Beatles
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=boc7rnhkLAk
Aah, look at all the lonely people
Aah, look at all the lonely people
Eleanor Rigby picks up the rice in the church where a wedding has been
Lives in a dream
Waits at the window, wearing the face that she keeps in a jar by the door
Who is it for?
All the lonely people
Where do they all come from?
All the lonely people
Where do they all belong?
Father McKenzie writing the words of a sermon that no one will hear
No one comes near.
Look at him working.
Darning his socks in the night when there's nobody there
What does he care?
All the lonely people
Where do they all come from?
All the lonely people
Where do they all belong?
Aah, look at all the lonely people
Aah, look at all the lonely people
Eleanor Rigby died in the church and was buried along with her name
Nobody came
Father McKenzie wiping the dirt from his hands as he walks from the grave
No one was saved
All the lonely people
Where do they all come from?
All the lonely people
Where do they all belong?

Contest is Over
- Contest was judged on January 23
- Rewards: Gold: 400, Silver: 200, Bronze: 100
- Final notes: Thank you so much for each entry!
Each entry was penned with brilliance and effort. We both enjoyed learning how others interpreted this song as far as their imagination goes. All entries were a joy to read.
It was a close call with who got the trophy, and finally resorted to adding in a silver and a bronze. (They were that good.) The ones with the greatest theme from this prompt are as follows:
Gold - Alone
Silver - Us and Them.
Bronze - Waiting
Thank you all!

doubtful at the moment. I can't seem to come up with anything that's fitting. I was reading the lyrics and thinking about lonely people ... if they all came together maybe they wouldn't be lonely.
-
-
Awww.

What if they can't find each other?
-
-
-
-
David Cook did it wonderfully!
-
-
He did a cover of this song?
-
-
On A.I. he sang it.
-
-
Hm... I'd have to say that I don't keep up with American Idol too much, but I do enjoy the auditions.
Will you be planning on entering the contest? -
