(Poetic) Prayers and/or Visions of Peace

Disturbed by what is going on in Gaza along with the Palestineans ceasing talks with Israel and Syria ending informal discussions, the ongoing Iraq war, turmoil in Burma, the Congo, and Darfur, and terrorism...please send your prayers and/or visions of peace in the form of poetry. It could reflect world peace, peace in a conflict region, environmental peace, or even the internal peace of something like coming to terms with a personal problem or forgiving a personal enemy.

Rhyme or don't, concise or longer, vivid imagery or abstract, its up to you. Just give me a sense of hope for peace...

Please mention in author notes whether you grant your permission for your entry to be used in not-for-profit avenues to promote just and lasting peace (see my profile if you wish to get an idea of the kind of forum your poetry might be used in, with your permission).

Thank you!

Sighhh...Well, it's my own fault, I suppose, but I missed the contest deadline by only a few hours. However, I was so inspired by Thoreau47, CarolDesjarlais & born4freedom's incredible entries that I wrote one myself. Richard sent me the link initially, as well. Thank you for hosting such a worthy contest & congratulations to all who entered their pleas for peace. Well done, Poets & Scribes. May 2009 be the year that peace & creativity reign. Wanda
