    I thank you all for taking the time to enter and for some wonderful words. Each of these pieces held my attention in different ways. Some were very beautiful but didn't speak the prompt to me. Some rhymed (see rules) Some had misspellings, etc., I hope everyone reads the 1st place winner, it blew me away. Ed's piece was like crushing a can and it cuts someone elses hand. And Miss Lane, well, by god she just spoke the truth. Thank you all.

    Not sure about this...last time I started work on a poem for one of your contests, I went into a three-day depression over adoptions and never finished the work.

    Thank you for the prompt. It has given me a good idea for a poem, and this makes me happy! Yay! As I invariably centre-align my poetry, I would feel guilty entering the contest, but I thought I would offer my thanks and if you want, I can link you to what I end up with after it's finished.
