So many entries that were so wonderful and magical. You really brought my picture alive. I felt like I was learning about the dragon in the picture and now I know him much better.
A hard contest to judge, I felt so flattered by all the wonderful ideas my picture was able to spark in your poetry.
I will likely be holding a similar contest soon with a picture of a new dragon named, "Flame Thrower." And this is inspired by the second place winner! Do give all the winners a read. They are well worth it.

Excellent graphic, well rendered! I obtained Photoshop CS 3 recently, and now have three manuals to get me started. I have a degree in Graphic Design from 1984, before much was done by computer. Can't wait to unlock the mysteries of Photoshop!
