#149 Winklings: Write a poem about a Christmas painting. For AP.

Choose a painting [give the link to it] related to the biblical Christmas story and

Choose any form and length that suits your purposes.  

 

I wish you a lovely Christmas and inspirational writing.  There will be HMs (up to 3 more added) if the field is strong.

  • Final notes:
    I shall sday this: My notes are adequate following each poem. However, one must hasten to add that each poem has a touch of uniqueness about it. Whether this is the uniqueness of the five fine paintings, I do not know.
    Finally, I must praise the winner. "The Ox's Gift" is a superb poem, technically perfect and straightforward in its treatment of the centralitries of the Barocci nativity scene. The Christine metaphor of the yoke is employed memorably.

    Bronze: Botticelli's Cloak.
