_the_ christmas wish

do you ever wish for something that can't be bought, something that you can't ask for?

write in free-verse poetry or short prose about that one wish that burns your soul. imagine santa is real and that, just this once, you can forget the ipods and the teddy bears and the electronics, and ask for what you truly need.

you may approach the topic in any way, but please do not be i-want-this-on-christmas obvious.

imagery and creativity are more than appreciated.

***don't give me, as i've seen in such contests, poems asking for world peace or ending poverty. those are noble goals, but i happen to find such poems hypocritical. unless you're an activist who wishes for more success with his/her work, the answer would be as simple as: go out there and try to make a difference, instead of writing for your AP fans.

just be honest and personal.

Contest is Over

  • Rewards: Gold: 800, Silver: 150
  • Final notes:
Hey everyone, I was overall pleased with this contest. I am sorry that with the holidays and other personal things I had to attend to, I have not been able to be as good a host as I wished and comment, but I've read and considered each poem. The two winners really caught my eye Thanks everyone for entering!
