Quickie....

Well, will be holding another one of these, just for the people who missed out last time.

Usual rules apply.

This time;

7 poets,
7 lines.

Prompt will go here: Obsession; it's not there to control you, it's there to slip you up.

Just remember - It's considered bad form and taste to use any part of the prompt directly in your poem.

And it's always nice to comment on other's work, even if it's not compulsory and won't earn you brownie points from me.

Contest is Over

  • Contest was judged on December 12, 2008
  • Rewards: Gold: 400, Silver: 30, Bronze: 30, Honorable mention: 4 people
  • Final notes:
Sorry about taking so long to judge, I ended up sleeping for 8 hours.

First off, thank you all for entering, all of the poems were beautiful and unique. And thank you all for being patient.

Gold, is obviously first. Silver and bronze are in order too, but they only recieve the same ammount of points as the honorable mentions. I just wanted to give everyone something to remember me by and to show how awesome their writes were, you're just only allowed 5 honorable mentions at the most so I added in silver and bronze for the same ammount of points.

I felt that the gold winner connected the most with the prompt and silver and bronze were very good too. Honorable metnions are in no order though, so if you get one and yours is last on the list don't feel discouraged.

Thank you all again for entering, you're helping me to become a much better judge and contest holder.

Well I was given quite a large sum of points by someone and figured I'd better be nice to the people who missed out. Glad I could be of service.

When will we be given the prompt, and when does the poem have to be finished? Thanks.

I think I just sent that info out but if you didn't get it, by tomorrow when I wake up and the prompt is up.

Generally in quickies the prompt only goes up after everyone has joined, which is why only a small number of people are allowed in. That way it's fair because everyone gets to start at the same time. Usually there's a time limit on them but I'm too tired to stay up and judge now.
