Redemption

I have lost my faith in humanity. In the belief that there are people out there worth trusting. In the fact that some friends are forever.

Because when I finally trust someone to see me at my worst, they tend to leave.

There's a saying.

"If you can't handle me at me worst, then you don't deserve me at my best."

I don't know if I believe in it anymore.

Redeem my faith in humanity by whatever means you can find.

Make me feel like not every single person I meet or have in my life already are going to turn around and destroy me if I let them.

Make me feel like humanity in general still exists.

I'm not even sure if that's possible...but I need something, anything...to give me at least a little hope.

Because the longer I fear what may happen, the more of my sanity I lose.

I can't help it. The people I care about mean everything to me...and I don't think I can recover if I lose anyone else at this point.

Redeem my faith that perhaps there are people out there who are loyal until the end...because there are far too few of them...and myself being one of them...it breaks my heart every day lately. At the very least...it will distract me from how much this truly hurts.

Maybe this seems pathetic...but I really couldn't care less at the moment. I need something uplifting...and where better to find it than at a poet's domain? What better way to distract myself from my own pain than to read something beautiful? There's no harm in trying...

So give me advice, a touching story, or just a little sunshine. I just need to feel like my whole world hasn't gone dark.

Honestly, it's fear more than anything else.

I have a really great prewritten poem that is perfect for this contest, and I'd love to enter it...
Is there any way you could allow it?
It's called "Redeemed"...You can read it and see if you'd like it to compete..

    Fresh Ideas Are The Best

i thought it was a remarkable idea for a contest and i would love to enter... but i fail there, i could not uplift you. my honest advice would only deepen your pain, since you are no where near the acceptance stage, and it seems you fear indulging insanity. i couldnt pressume to advise you in or on humanity's ways or strengthen your faith. Truthfully only you can do this. But i do hope someone on this site tries and succeeds. Good luck with the contest, for it was a marevelous idea. - T

TS, what you write here is quite powerful and eloquently written - there is total poetry in your write to Rose Dark Thorn.

This line in itself is brilliant:

"my honest advice would only deepen your pain, since you are no where near the acceptance stage, and it seems you fear indulging insanity"

You are so intuned, and that's a blessing.

Thank you ladylavender for your kind words. The most I could do for rose dark thorn was give my honest opinion, and since she is in such a merose mood, i thought my words might help to uplift her spirits... since i know my poetry would not. But once again thank you. I just hope someone on this site is able to do what she asks.- T

    Thank You Rose DT ...

for holding this contest and for stimulating me to create a poem with you in mind ... I also thank you for the trophy & points and for your heartfelt comment. Growing and realizing what's important and what's not is never the same when you are young ... and when you become my age, it all changes. What's important is that you realize who you are and all the rest of the folks will fall in line as they grow too! Happy holidays, jy

Thank you, dear beautiful woman for the honor of receiving honorable mention in this contest. I only hope that my words were an inspiration to you and whoever read them. May your days be filled with love, light, and laughter now and in the coming year, I love you more than you will ever know. The world is filled with distress and disappointment because the enemy of good is on its job. WE must be about the business of love, there is no greater emotion. Often, situations occur in life as lessons. WE must be eager to learn from them no matter how painful. If I can overcome years of sexual abuse as a child then, self-inflicted abuse with drugs and alcohol...please know that you too can overcome the hurts of life. I am here when you need an ear, shoulder or a simple hug.

I love you like you were one of my very own. How is that possible? Because it is as it should be!

CONGRATULATIONS TO ALL THE WINNERS HERE AND KUDOS TO THOSE WHO TRIED TO UPLIFT WITH THEIR LOVING WORDS, AND REALITIES!

MERRY Christmas & Happy New Year
