Get the Drunk Driving message out.....

At this time of year,

it is a sad fact

that with so many holiday festivities,

office and home parties

that the incidents of drunk driving

and all the consequences

rise dramatically.

 Driving under the influence of

drink or drugs is a killer.

Unfortunately many deaths occur

each year through drunk driving.

What I want you to do is

get the message out there

to everyone to raise awareness

about the cause and

effects of such a habit.

STOP Drunk Driving

and

SAVE LIVES

Rules

1.  Any format is acceptable

Contest is Over

  • Contest was judged on December 30, 2008
  • Rewards: Gold: 400, Silver: 250, Bronze: 100, Honorable mention: 3 people
  • Final notes:
First of all I want to say a big thankyou to everyone for adding their entries intoo this contest.
To me it is a very important subject and one dear to my own heart having seen and dealt with the aftermath of the accidents caused by drunk driving.
I feel very strongly that we all have a duty to get the message out thre, not only to the young but to all who drive any sort of vehicle.
Its a message that can never be told too often.. and if we can save even one life by telling it, then it is worthwhile.

The entries were brilliant, and I really had a hard time choosing but.... here goes:

Gold - Only a buzz by knickerdew

Silver - Now She Knows by paw-writer

Bronze - Jingle Hell by Ken J

    Three Honorable mentions to

This Is Her Story by Ambrea

    Junior by wakawaka05

Goodbye were falling fast... by redhanded

Well done and thank you to everyone.

    Ann

Hey, I did NOT write this poem, but i did come across it a few years ago, i thought you might want to read it.
''Near to the door he paused to stand
as he took his class ring off her hand
all who were watching did not speak
as a silent tear ran down his cheek
and through his mind the memories ran
    of the moments they walked
and ran in the sand hand and hand
but now her eyes were so terribly cold
for he would never again have her to hold
they watched in silence as he bent near
    and whispered the words......
"I love you" in her ear
he touched her face and started to cry
as he put on his ring and wanted to die
and just then the wind began to blow
as they lowered her casket into the snow....
this is what happens to man alive.....
when friends let friends.... drink and drive.''

I think that this contest is great and the fact that you want to get the message out there is just brilliant. If more people were like you maybe the world wouldnt be so dangerous.
